The Local News has been publishing for two months now and we are thrilled with all the positive feedback we have gotten.

Many thanks to all of you who have made a donation. We just got word from the IRS that we are now officially a 501(c)(3) organization, so all donations made after January 15, 2026, and going forward are tax deductible.  Support has been sufficient to allow us to begin a search for a part-time editor to provide guidance for our volunteer reporters.

Your survey feedback has indicated overwhelming support for local news. Municipal coverage, features about our community and calendar listings topped the list of main interests.

Many have asked how to know when we post new articles. Simply fill out the box at the right (or below if on your phone) to get The Local News in your inbox. We typically send an email about once a week when we have posted several new stories, but you can also check in anytime at http://www.thelocalnewsonline.org.

Finally, please spread the word to friends and neighbors about The Local News! The more people who know about us, the more we will be able to grow and provide you with better and more news – always with no paywall.
