LOCAL SCENES
We would love to see and share the beauty of our community through your eyes. To be considered, please send us photos taken within the past month in Arundel, Kennebunk and/or Kennebunkport. We will not include photos of people due to concerns regarding privacy and consent.
You may submit up to two photos per person. While we can’t publish every submission, we will carefully consider each one.
When reviewing submissions, we look for:
- A variety of topics and subjects
- High-quality, well-composed images
- Good resolution: JPEG/JPG under 5 MB
- Highlights of what makes each town special
We’ll be building a more streamlined way to get us your photos and information in the weeks to come, but if you’d like to send one or two now to photographs@thelocalnewsonline.org, we will be happy to consider them!
Please include your name, town, and a caption for your photo.

Tree Swallows are migratory birds that breed in the US and Canada, and winter along the southern US coast and further south. They nest in either isolated pairs or groups in both natural and man-made cavities. Check out our Kennebunk Land Trust’s Madelyn Marx Preserve, contiguous to Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge, for Tree Swallow Nest Boxes.
