The Kennebunk Fire-Rescue and the Kennebunkport Fire Department on Friday held a ceremony at the Waterhouse Center on Main Street in Kennebunk to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks.
The ceremony honored the courage and sacrifice of victims and the dedication of first responders to the terror attacks that killed 2,977 people in plane crashes into New York City’s Twin Towers, the Pentagon and a field in Pennsylvania.
Local firefighters, fire department honor guards, emergency medical personnel, law enforcement officers, military personnel, veterans, elected officials, community leaders and members of the public were invited.
