KENNEBUNKPORT – The Neighborhood Housing Trust will host Harmonies and Homes: Jazz Night, a fundraising event featuring live jazz, wine, and auctions, on Thursday, October 1, 2026, from 6:30 to 9 pm at the Kennebunk River Club, 116 Ocean Avenue in Kennebunkport.
The evening’s program features performances by local jazz ensembles the Nick Goumas Quartet and the Osher Jazz Combo, along with a cash wine bar, refreshments, and live and silent auctions. Attendees will have the chance to bid on museum quality craft, unique local experiences, and other exciting items across every level of giving. Each ticket includes one complimentary glass of wine, and free parking is available on-site.
Tickets are $60 for general admission and $80 for premiere front-of-house seating and are available at eventbrite.com/e/harmonies-and-homes-jazz-night-tickets-1995540368962.
“We’re thrilled to bring our community together for an evening like this — great music, great company, all in support of building homes that the people who make this community run can actually afford to live in,” said Tanya Alsberg, an NHT board member and the organizer of the event. “Events like Harmonies and Homes remind us that building homes isn’t just about shelter, it’s about keeping our towns healthy and whole for the long run.”
Proceeds from Harmonies and Homes will support NHT’s work to create and preserve affordable housing in Kennebunk, Kennebunkport, and Arundel for the local workforce who keeps the three towns running year-round. The median price for a single-family home in Kennebunkport is $1.9 million, according to Realtor.com. The median price is $850,000 in Kennebunk and $561,000 in Arundel according to the website.
“The math just doesn’t work for the people who keep these towns running,” said Larissa Crockett, NHT’s executive director. “A teacher, a nurse, a municipal employee — the income it actually takes to buy a home here is nowhere close to what most of our neighbors earn working in town. That gap is exactly why NHT exists, and it’s why events like this matter so much to closing it.”
